How to care for your Ken Parker Umbrella

Our umbrellas feature a soil & stain resistant fabric for long life and easy cleaning.

  • In most cases you can simply hose off, and allow to dry
SPOT WASH by sponging briskly with a soapy solution of natural soap and lukewarm water. rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove soap and air dry.

  • For STUBBORN STAINS or suntan lotion, use a fabric spot remover. Follow directions on container. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and air dry.

  • Our SOLUTION DYED or PAINTED Fabric Umbrellas do not promote mildew growth. However, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean mildew stains, first attempt; prepare a mild solution of one-quarter cup Simple Green® (usually available at larger home improvement stores) plus two caps full of a mild, non-cream dish soap such as Dawn® per gallon of water. Spray on entire area and allow to soak in. If necessary, scrub vigorously with a sponge, clean rag, or a very soft brush for stubborn stains. Sponge thoroughly with clean water and air dry. If a dark mildew stain persists then prepare the above mixture using 1/2 cup bleach instead of Simple Green® .

  • Avoid mildew by cleaning and thoroughly drying your umbrella before seasonal, or long term storage. Prolong your umbrellas life by removing the cover from the frame for long-term or seasonal storage, and store in a cool/dry location
