Quality of Workmanship

The Real Thing!

There are a lot of umbrellas out there - we've seen them all; the good, the bad, and the down-right ugly. The words "Market", and "Commercial Grade" are commonly used to reel you in, but don't be fooled.

Ken Parker seeks out, and buys only the highest quality, true commercial grade Market umbrellas. Each umbrella is inspected for workmanship, operation, hardware, and fabric gauge, before it goes into our inventory.

Please take a moment to review the information on our umbrellas. Whether you purchase your Market umbrella from us or someone else, we want you to know what to look for.

Our Promise...Our umbrellas are a Great Deal on Shade... NOT a Shady Deal!

Quality is all we will accept, and all you will get. Our umbrellas are made by skilled craftsmen who take pride in producing a top of the line product. Our Market Umbrellas add beauty and elegance to your garden or patio and the superb craftsmanship and quality materials ensure years of enjoyment.

Woods
What good is an umbrella that can't stand the weather? We only purchase umbrellas make with woods which are capable of withstanding the elements.

Fabrics
We only use superior acrylic fabrics. This fabric is resistant to sunlight, mildew and rot.

Hardware
Our umbrellas feature only the finest stainless steel hardware and marine-quality brass in the construction of our umbrellas.

Pole Construction
Some manufacturers will say that their single or continuous pole construction is more durable, but an engineer would likely disagree. Single pole construction is preferable In the larger umbrellas that feature a pole greater than 2" diameter, such as our 11' models. The weight of the umbrella actually reinforces the poles strength and center of gravity. However in the 6' and 9' umbrellas a single pole construction runs a greater risk of splitting - reasons being; smaller diameter, higher grain/mm, and lighter umbrella cannot exert enough stabilizing force on the pole. Okay, with the physics lesson behind us...

Our 11' umbrellas are single pole construction - 2' dia. Hard wood that has been aged and pressure treated - not kiln dried, or machine pressured. It is oil sealed to withstand moisture, rot, or swelling.

Our 6' and 9' umbrellas are 1 3/8" dia. 2 pole construction with a patented heavy machine tooled aluminum connection shaft that comes together perfectly to create a stable and durable connection at what would otherwise be the poles weakest point.
